If anyone feeds that god damn pigeon who lives in the shed at the bottom of my garden anymore, I think all it would be able to do is role
-
I have two bird feeders in my garden. Love watching birds. At times have sea-gulls come too. My neighbour bakes fresh bread for the birds, amazingly he asks his wife to boil rice or pop-corns for the birds. I think his passion for birds was contagious as I followed him too.
-
yes, i live in the great white north and enjoy watching them . some days there is nothing else to do.
-
Yes. I have all kinds of wild finches, cardinals, jinkos, sparrows, wrens, etc. That feed here all the year around.
-
My back porch is the size of a postage stamp. If I fed the bird there, I would have a postage stamp sized tract of property covered in bird poop. I take my unwanted and stale bread to a big parking lot and let the "sea gulls" swarm around me. It's so cool, I feel like the Pied Piper of birds. One day they will take a dump on me. :-)
-
No, the birds feed me and never seem to learn that I eat them.
-
Every other day, my wife or i take out the bird seed to feed our cardinals. these birds are very educated. when they become hungry and there is no food, they fly to the windows and they sing. they want their voices(chirps)to be heard. We have had a family of cardinals for many years. we love it, they just brighten the day.
-
I feed them during the winter, but let them fend for themselves in the summer.

Yes, and I started to when I accidently spilled some bird seed on the ground.

My 2 and 3 year old make those pinecones covered with peanut butter and then rolled in seed. They have so much fun making them, hanging them and watching the bird eat from them. Very fun activity!

Yup. In fact, I wanted to make my yard an official backyard habitat but my husband said no:(
-
Yes. I love the birds. Peanuts and hanging fat balls, scraps of anything really. But I feed them only during the early daylight hours so as not to encourage nightime rats and mice.
-
I moved to a old farmhouse, the people took their pheasants but left some wild type of chicken. I assume they are wild because they can fly the length of a football field when startled. We feed them, and also feed the "rock" pigeons, and the homeless cats and bunnies dropped off at night. Most of the birds that feed here are the common finch, robins, and bluejays, however you do see many other species of birds jioning it.
-
Of course! I give them all a big hand full of uncooked rice. :-D
-
I don't need too. I have several types of berries and flowers that grow wild on my property. I actually chase them from the garden most of the time.

We have bird feeders of all types all around our home. We feed year round. We've got suet feeders and seed feeders, some thistle ones. We have platform feeders with corn and other big grains. We feed the geese and ducks that visit our pond. We're trying to grow some grasses and plants that both the waterfowl and the turkeys will enjoy. We enjoy all feathered visitors except maybe hoards of grackles and cowbirds.
