Today is Monday, May 5, 2008. On the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River, one gallon of regular gasoline is currently selling for about $3.629. On the New Jersey side of the Delaware River, one gallon of regular gasoline is currently selling for about $3.389. Delaware is currently charging about $3.559 per fallon. The states are in the Philadelphia, PA metropolitan area, better known as "the Tri-state area" Why the difference? In each state, there are different amounts for the gasoline and fuel tax. UNLESS folks live further northeast about 45 miles from where I live - there are tolls for all of the 7 bridges which have to be paid. OR there are those who go to work in New Jersey on a regular basis. They pay tolls, too, BUT its cost-efficient for them to do so. For those folks celebrating: Happy Cinqo de Mayo!
