It has been said many times in the comics themselves that Cyclops is the most powerful of the original x-men. If his visor were to be removed the destructive force unleashed would be unimaginable (and uncontrollable). However, later on when Jean Grey was resurrected as the Phoenix, it became the most powerful, the only class 5, x-man. There is debate whether the Phoenix is a true x-man, being a "force of nature" with little control of its emotional state, and killing other x-men in the latest movie (X3).

If we exclude Phoenix, my vote would go to Storm. She keeps her power under control, but unleashed her influence over weather systems could disrupt the entire planet.

Even before she is brought back, I would say that Jean Grey could be the most powerful mutant. With perfect control a telekinetic can do anything they desire. With enough control, she could create barriers to repel almost anything, she could will her molecules in her body to move and close up any wounds, flight, she could literally rip a person apart (interestingly demontrated in X3), plus her telepathic abilities are of the most adept on the planet as well. This is just my opinion, but I would venture to vote Jean as the most powerful mutant. And if Phoenix does count...then there would be no question.

Jean is the most powerful X-man ever as Phoenix. In the comics as per current continuity being a Phoenix is a mutation, the "ultimate mutation" as stated in the comics which allows certain mutants to become one with the Phoenix Force, the power that is the very Big Bang which spawns reality. Therefore Jean as Phoenix is very much a mutant and she counts. If we are not including Jean then out of the current roster, Rachel Grey would be the most powerful. She is an omega level telepath/telekinetic like her mother and also possesses the ability to send her astral form through time. Like her mother she has the genetic potential to wield the Phoenix Force. Without Rachel the most powerful would be Storm. The point has been stated on panel and by X-men editors in the past. In terms of sheer energy generatable (just think about how much power is contained within lightining and hurricanes) she is more powerful than the likes of Cyclops and Havok.

u exclude the scarlet witch then wolverine is the best and most powerful in his physical as well as in his mental thinking.

( king.harmony Dec, 29 2006 at 09:47 AM what are u saying. what goes faster the mind or eyes. dont even mention cycloips. the only reason i can accept that is if the person is that stupid to stand in front of him. jean has to just stand and absorb all the blast and kill him) I totally agree with king harmony comment u will have 2 be a dam fool of just bloody dumb 2 go standing in front of cyclop, and beside jean grey can kill him without even using the phoenix force, all she had 2 do is use her telepathy to mentaly control his brain and drive him 2 the highest level darn that is da end of him

i just gotta give it up to storm whose been at times under appreciated and under valued, even though she possess an ability that makes her all the more perfect.

i simple fact that everyone seems to mention jean grey killing others when in fact she isn't all that powerful by herself. just think about it if she was so powerful she wouldn't need the phoenix in the first place, giving her the phoenix indicates that she obviously needed it to do anything. i mean she can't even use cerebro much less kil another xmen and yes there are more powerful things than telekinesis, and telepathy and stuff. like control the whole damn sky to do your bidding (storm). yeah im with storm all the way, of course excluding the phoenix from consideration. if she really is so powerful as nearly everyone claims then why doesn't she remain consistant in the comics. i mean she dies at every turn, and don't say it was jean that died not the phoenix cause they're pretty much one in the same. even though cyclops might not be much of a threat against jean, but if she makes one wrong move and he catches it, then shes done....maybe. but yeah storm rains supreme. and i will tell you why. image these xmen here on earth in real-time and in real-life (excluding all the mutants whose powers seem to be faulty or exaggerated like phoenix, sunfire, magma, iceman etc) who if wanted to kill us all who have a high chance of success. STORM right cuase look at it this way, what women wants to get her hair wet? and what can you do against the weather anyways? nothing but predict it which still might not work. storm is kinda under-appreciated cause if she was real, she would be highly praised. people would beg her not to make it rain today and can we have a white christmas every year?,etc.

Even WITHOUT the Phoenix, Jean Grey has been canonically established as being the most powerful mutant, at least in terms of potential. Her telekinetic, telepathic, and psionic power is theoretically without limits. Beast described her as the equivalent of a 12 on the Ricter scale, if said scale applied to mutants. - Bonded with the Phoenix, Jean outclasses any and all mutants in terms of shear power. - Storm is a close second to Jean. In fact, in terms of RAW power, Storm probably does outclass Jean, as the latter's power is mostly unfulfilled potential, whereas Storm can easily whip up a hurricane with the destructive output greater than an atomic bomb.

The answer is Nate Gray, who is the son of Scott Summers and Jean Gray. He is more powerful than any mutant with the exception of Frankin Richards. (This is according to Stan Lee) I believe he knows more than all of us combined since he created them! Rogue, who gains her strength and ability to fly from Ms. Marvel, becomes the most powerful X-man other than the Phoenix, until Nate Gray is born. Here is a list of the most powerful mutants, not just x-men and you can see where your favorite is! 1. Franklin Richards 2. X-Man Nate Gray 3. Apocalypse 4. Dark Phoenix 5. Phoenix 6. Cable (without the techno virus) 7. Magneto (at full power) 8. Professor Xavier 9. Rogue 10. Cassandra Nova 11. Exodus 12. Emma Frost 13. Psylocke 14. Storm Note they seperate dark Phoenix from Phoenix because the dark side was more powerful.

Rogue is definately the most powerful x man.She can posses the powers of any mutant and then she did already have the powers of Ms. Marvel, and sunfire by now. The creators wanted to enhance her powers by giving her the ability to use the powers of anyone she has touched by now, but afraid of making her a one man- army and the most powerful mutant unquestionably, but i hate it that the creators have kept her on the evil side/ double agent in the wolverine and the x men.

Rouge. No question.

The Most Powerful X-man is Storm. She can do anything. because this is what Wikipedia described her as Storm is an extremely powerful human mutant, and has demonstrated a plethora of abilities, most of which are facets of her power to control the weather.[64] Storm possesses the psionic ability to control all forms of weather over vast areas. She has been able to control both Earthly and extraterrestrial ecosystems on several occasions. She can control the temperature of the environment, control all forms of precipitation, humidity and moisture, generate lightning and other electromagnetic atmospheric phenomena, and has demonstrated excellent control over atmospheric pressure. She can incite all forms of meteorological tempests, such as tornadoes, thunderstorms, blizzards, and is capable of summoning a hurricane,[65] as well as mist. She can dissipate such weather to form clear skies as well. Her precise control over the atmosphere allows her to create special weather effects. She can create precipitation at higher or lower altitudes than normal, make whirlwinds travel pointing lengthwise in any direction, absorb ambient electromagnetism and output it as electric blasts from her body, flash freeze objects and people, coalesce atmospheric pollutants into acid rain or toxic fog, and summon wind currents strong enough to support her weight to elevate herself to fly at high altitudes and speeds. Her control over air is so great that she can even manipulate the air in a person's lungs. On rare occasions, Storm has demonstrated the ability to control natural forces that include cosmic storms, solar wind, ocean currents, and the electromagnetic field. She has demonstrated the ability to separate water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen via electrolysis, allowing her to breathe underwater. While in outer space, she is able to affect and manipulate the interstellar and intergalactic mediums. Storm can alter her visual perceptions so as to see the universe in terms of energy patterns, detecting the flow of kinetic, thermal and electromagnetic energy behind weather phenomena and bending this energy to her will. Storm has shown to be sensitive to the dynamics of the natural world, and her psionic powers over weather are affected by her emotions. One consequence of this connection to nature is that she often suppresses extreme feelings to prevent her emotional state from resulting in violent weather. She has sensed a diseased and dying tree on the X-Mansion grounds, detected objects within various atmospheric mediums--including water, and sensed the incorrect motion of a hurricane in the Northern Hemisphere and the gravitational stress on the tides by the Moon and Sun as well as the distortion of a planet's magnetosphere.[66] Storm's mutant abilities are limited by her willpower and the strength of her body. Sentinels identify Storm as a possible Omega-level mutant Storm's physiology grants her a total immunity to extreme weather conditions and temperatures of heat and cold.[73][74] Her body compensates for rapid decreases or increases in atmospheric pressure.[75] She can see in near-complete darkness and has superb dexterity.[76][77] Storm has been described as having one of the strongest wills among the X-Men, making her highly resistant to psychic attacks especially in tandem with electrical fields she creates around herself. Telepaths have found it difficult to track her down and probe her thoughts. Several of these traits are independent of her mutant status and are a result of her ancestry. Also, when utilizing her powers, Storm's eyes turn solid white

forget the phoenix force for now the most powerfull X-men are as follow 1. Vulcan 2. Professor X 3. Storm 4. Phoenix (rachel summers) 5. X-man 6. Cable (without the infection) 7. Magneto 8. Marvel Girl (without the phoenix)
-
Its gotta be magneto, hands down. Just think... the earth is practically made of metal. He could just rip it apart. Also, aside from wolverine, he's more badass. Also, he's played by Ian Mckellen, which just makes him a god plain and simple.
-
Toad. Yea, you all think I'm freakin nuts. So do I.
-
i dnt think any 1 is more powerful as magneto can beat wolverine wolverine can beat the phoenix an the phoenix can defeat everythink elsee!!! every 1 has ther own weaknes so it will just be a cycle!!

The One-Above-All is the God of the Marvel Universe. Research him on Wikipedia and it'll tell you that he is the one that controls everything even The Living Tribunal called him a so called "GOD", and The Tribunal is also stronger than the ever so popular Phoenix. The One-Above-All can destroy the universe if it wanted to. Galactus also is nowhere near as strong as him. Even Eternity who is stronger than Galactus cannot match the strength of The One-Above-All. Thank God he's on our side!!!

come on storm it take her about 2 mins too summon clouds too burn ass's nightcrawler can teleport in 2min right in front of her and stab her

well there are alot of xmen who are powerful storm cyclops. professor x but lets put it this way there are those who powerful but aint explored as much for instance iceman he has alot of power not only can he freeze others but himself he can bring in extra moisture and cause himself to be gigantic in size ans strength in ice form he can also heal from any wound. he can surroud himself in a field of absalute zero which would be so cold that not even wolverine would be able to fight him but others like magneto are under rated in the movies aswell as some of the comics people assume he can only manipulate metal but thats not true he has shown oncases to have telepathy and astal projection he can manipulate and control all forms of magnatism including electricity and radiation if he were to fly up to the uper atmosphere he could manipulate the entire worlds oxygin all though rogue is my favorire x men she has shown that all though she can absorb others powers she only maintains them for 60 times that of the contact that absorbed them ie 30 seconds of contact - 18 minits of power. and has shown that when absorbing multiple powers she has less control
-
onslaught I think the name is my view is if you can warp reality you are the most powerful because you can change the physics of your enemys powers some say he is not an x-man but he has prof x mind inside him so he is a one by default its all just a theory
