Sometimes. I enjoy using chopsticks at the chinese places I go, but sometimes I don't think to pick some up, so I'll just use the utensils at my table.
-
Yes, if they are available. It's part of the experience.
-
Usually. Mainly to rub it in on my sons who would starve without silverware. lol
-
If they're availabe at the table or given to me I do. It makes it fun.

I actually carry two sets of my own sticks with me in one of my bags. I use them often. And not just for Asian food. People at work have made fun of me for eating a lettuce salad with sticks.
-
Yes I do .
-
Often but not always.

1) "Chopsticks are a pair of small even-length tapered sticks, which originated in China, and are the traditional eating utensils of China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. Chopsticks are commonly used in these four countries and their associated cuisine. Chopsticks can also now be found in some areas of Tibet and Nepal that are close to Han Chinese populations, due to cross-cultural influences. In South East Asia chopsticks are usually used when eating noodles . Chopsticks are commonly made of wood, bamboo, metal, bone, ivory, and in modern times, plastic as well. The pair of sticks is maneuvered in one hand – between the thumb and fingers – and used to pick up pieces of food." Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chopsticks 2) "Although forks, knives and other "piercing" utensils have been introduced to China over the years, there are a few reasons the chopsticks have remained the main way to eat food. Firstly, it is believed that the scholar Confucius (approximately 550 to 480 BCE) taught that since knives were weapons of death, only a "barbarian" would bring one to the table to eat. Likewise, as Buddhism spread through China and the beliefs of nonviolence gained hold, there was little appeal for having utensils that reminded one of weaponry at such an important place as a dinner table." Source: http://www.geocities.com/jayistheboss/chopsticks.html 3) "While Filipinos use forks, spoons and knives, those utensils are used differently, particularly because rice is a part of most meals. The spoon, held in the right hand, is used to scoop up the food; the fork in the left hand serves as a helper in cutting up the food. Chopsticks are not normally used outside of Chinese restaurants." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etiquette_in_Asia "Chopsticks are NOT used to eat EVERYTHING in Asia. In my home country of Thailand, for instance, as well as other countries in Southeast Asia, chopsticks are ONLY used for noodle dishes that come in a bowl. In fact, no matter what part of Asia you are in (or if you are in an Asian restaurant in the West), the general rule is that chopsticks are used when your individual serving of rice is given to you in a small bowl. But you should use a fork and spoon if your individual serving of rice is given to you on a flat plate.." http://www.geocities.com/jayistheboss/chopsticks.html "The main culinary differences between the Thai and the Laotion is that the Thai people prefer steamed white rice which they eat with a fork and spoon as opposed to sticky rice which is eaten with the fingers. The Thai also specialize in a wider variety of curry dishes than do the Laotians. In both cultures, chopsticks are rarely used except for noodle dishes." http://www.foodventure.com/rest_minibanquets.asp Further information: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/388332 3) As a conclusion, people eat Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese food with chopsticks - if they can. You don't normally eat other asian food with chopsticks, such as Indian, Thai, Lao, Filipino food. I personally like very much to eat with chopsticks, but would look around if I see some before I ask for them...
-
Not all Asian people use chopsticks. Traditionally, most have used their right hand to eat. Only China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam have traditionally used chopsticks. But when I eat Chinese or Vietnamese food, yes, I use chopsticks.
-
Yes, it adds to the taste and the experience. Their food was made (cut and arranged) to be eaten that way.
-
Sometimes, depends on if its an 'authentic' place or Panda Express or other Chinese fast food type place, I feel less compelled to use them there. I always use them when we go out for sushi though.
-
No, not with chinese food, but I do when I go to Mongolian BBQ!
-
No! It takes too long to eat! LOL
-
No, I am not coordinated enough.
-
Yup. I think it make the experience better too.
-
Yes! It is part of the experience. Of course, I am less brave about teaching others to use them. More than once there have been food missiles launched on to other peoples table when I was trying to teach various friends and family to use them! My daughter gave up and used it to spear her chicken! The first time I ever tried using them was back when McDonalds first came out with chicken McNuggets and they gave out chopsticks and sweet and sour sauce!
-
Yup. My 9 year old does too.
-
no, but I can play it on the piano.

-
Yes i do.

Nah I can only eat big pieces of food with chop sticks, and I cant really grab rice like I want to lol.
-
Every day and almost every meal. I also use a spoon and sometimes a knife.
-
Every chance I get.
-
whenever I can. I love chopsticks! Does anyone know where I can get some fancy sets besides Ebay?
-
No
-
i seem to have a learning disability specific to the use of chopsticks...it's embarrassing i swear...
-
Yes, every time I go to eat Vietnamese food :) mmmm - Pho :)
-
My husband and I have a huge collection of chopsticks, and we use them occasionally. Sometimes we are just too lazy though.
-
im really rather bad at using them, and end up with pieces of food fropping all over my clothes, and on thet table top, in other peoples plates, so, basically, only when I have to, often when in a fun mood out with friends !! :)
-
No, sadly, I don't U_U I'm Asian, but I was born and raised into the American way O.O So I have limited knowledge of many Asian things. And no one ever taught me, so no, I have never used it to eat...now to shoot things with it like an arrow, that I use it for :D
-
Yes, but I don't hold it the way most ppl do. There is more than one way to hold chopsticks.
-
Yes. I love using chopsticks.
-
Yes. Makes the food taste better. I even bought these jade chopstick holders for the table.
-
Sometimes I do, I like to at home with my own chopsticks.
-
I use chopsticks only in a restaurant. Otherwise, I use a fork or spoon when eating Asian food at home.
-
I can if I have to, but I've used them more to hold my hair up (before chemo) than I have to eat with.
