I think all rap artists samples a song from another artist. Do you know of a rap artist who has their own songs and if so who are they?

I think the word ALL makes this statement untrue. I'm sure its possible that at least ONE rap artist somewhere in history came up with their own lyrics (whether you've heard them or not). And since rap doesn't really have a tune or a melody I can contend its not even really music. But to answer your question secondly, I think that narcissist Will Smith came up with some lyrics that were less offensive than most rap at the time and so was able to incorporate that into main stream 'music' to actually make big money. (Parents Just Don't Understand) Foul lyrics limit sales.

Linda Joy But if you want to get down to technicalities all the words currently recognized have been used before so where is the distinction? At what point is it considered 'sampling' when you're using the same words everyone else does so they will understand the words. -
Shadow Of The Mind When I say that rap artists sample a song, I mean as in the tune in the song was originally used by another artist. Most rap songs have tunes in them along with a drum beat so in a way it’s music. In the question I asked, I said “I think” so in other words it is my guess.
