I'm going to start calling it a metermeter and I'm sure it won't catch on, but it'll be fun. Anyone want to join me?

They borrowed it from yardstick, which was actually a stick, not an electronic meter. Also back in the old days meters were marked on the back of the yardstick. And metermeter sounds like you have a stutter or a tic. I'd like to see people's reactions when you say it though!

bostjan the adequate 🥉Yeah, all of the examples I gave are digital now, even though they used to work the same way as a metermeter, with numbers printed or engraved on them. I wonder if people thought Boutrose Boutrose Ghali had a stutter, and that's why they vetoed his second term in office?

Linda JoyI remember the triangle rulers they used to have but I thought those were for drafting. I don't know anything about the other meters in the form of a stick. By the time I used a voltmeter, it was electronic.
