Well, as a general rule of thumb, I would say we need less government. Which parts we need less of needs a more detailed answer.

The larger the government in the more that will be needed to spent keep it going. Also with a larger government is harder to track waste and fraud. A smaller limited government will be easier to track fraud, waste and new laws that are put in place.
