You mean there are places that you dont' have to? Wow. That is old school.

Army VeteranThe last time I was in New York, they had full services stations. Maybe "trust" isn't one of their assets. LOL
-
-
No..although with some of the pumps you use at night you have to put your card in first and it then takes the money once you have used the pump..otherwise you always pay after..
-
No and I don't remember time when someone had to pay before they pump gas in my town either.

You must not drive much. Because of the serious problem with drive-offs, almost every place is using the pre-pay option.
-
-
Yup.
-
yes either by credit/debit card or cash inside
-
Yes, absolutely, without exception. +5
-
yes I pay before i pump
-
..nuh uh Nunya...we can't even pump our own gas..we set and get waited on....lol
-
Nope....pump first pay last.
-
Yes; but it wasn't always that way. I remember when they actually employed people to pump gas for you; and you didn't even have to get out of your car! Those were the days!
-
No,not if they know you.
-
Not with my gas card......or your gas card
-
24 hour pre-pay
-
Yes and no. The people that know me let me pump first. +5
-
Some stations yes, and some stations no.
-
No, you pay at the drive through after.
-
No,small town trust.
-
Most people do. I have know the owner of the station for years, he never makes me.
-
Nope
-
A few stations require a card or payment of cash before you pump, however, most go by card only or let you pay after you pump.
-
Yes, most of them you have too. +5

You usually have to pre-pay at night. Also, you might pre-pay if you park at a pump far away from the station building. During the day, though, you can usually pump before you pay in my town. With the price of gas going up, though, a lot of stations are going all pre-pay. There are plenty of people who will "fill and go" if they get the chance. +5
-
All of the ones I go to you do. :-)
-
yes!
-
Yep. I haven't been anywhere that lets you pay after in years.
-
As far as I know all the ones here in town you pay then pump. :-)
-
I'm pretty sure all the stations in my town are pay and then pump now....I don't blame them. With gas so high I bet a lot of people would be tempted to gas and go.
-
Yep
-
We live in NY. Have to pay first always.
-
Some places yes and some places no. I tend to a have a decent reputation so if I inform the individual I am filling up they will go ahead and cut the pump on.
-
no
-
Yes, that is the requirement. Although, we have the "pay at the pump" option too where we can do it right there with a credit or debit card.
-
nope
-
no
-
No, pay after filling. There are plenty of cameras on the forecourt recording registrations & faces so they can send the police after anyone who fills & runs.
-
We have that option. The problem comes in when, after pumping the gas, a blip comes up on the screen saying "See Cashier For Receipt". This is one of the few things in life that pisses me off - it defeats the reason for paying at the pump in the first place.
-
I don't. Most gas stations require you to swipe your credit or debit card before you begin pumping gas.
