they are not as good as proper air conditioners but if you tie an old remote controll helecopter to it it looks soooooo awsome! and if you put glow in the dark stars on it and turn it on in the dark it looks amazing!

We use then in the winter to help circulate the heat better. The hot air tends to stratify in the high-ceilinged rooms otherwise. +5

I have one in the living room and it is great. After a rain in spring and summer, you can just open the windows and let the fan bring in the fresh clean air and freshen up the whole house.

Yes, we've got two of them, one at the top of the great room and the other upstairs in the bedroom. Since the whole ceiling area is open and they are so high, it really helps with both hot or cold air, to circulate it.
