How often do you water outside plants? (ferns, flowers, vines) I live in a desert climate if that makes a difference.

Anything that is in a container is watered according to the requirements. The evergreens and landscaping planted in the ground are watered only if it rains, except for my rose bushes - in the summer, I give them a good soaking about three times a week. Last night, I read on a forum that for the metal hanging baskets that are lined with a coco liner, that if you first put plastic (like a plastic garbage bag or an empty potting soil bag) poked with holes, followed by a diaper on top of the plastic before putting in your potting soil, that you do not have to water them everyday. I thought that was a good tip.
