YES GET A BLOCK FOR STARTING WITH A MATCH FROM YOUR GROCERY STORE IN THE FIRE LOG AREA. IT LOOKS LIKE A ICE CREAM SANDWICH IN SIZE. PLACE IT IN YOUR WOOD STOVE AND PLACE 2 DRY LOGS ON IT EVENLY. LIGHT THE BLOCK AND LET IT BURN FOR 3 MINUTES WITH THE DOOR OPEN, THEN CLOSE DOOR WITH AIR ENTERING SO THE WOOD HAD ENOUGH. 30 MINUTES LATER CLOSE IT UP TIGHT.
