Well, for music videos and movies, usually they'll hold an open audition in the town/city nearest where they are going to shoot.

Register to a dance school or dance crew. Build up your rep and get experience in dancing for concerts and such. Then when you see ad's in regards to chosing people for a music video you'll audition of course, and by then your resume will look good :P so it will convince them even more of putting you in the music video. I've done a few for up and coming artists. Biggest gig I have ever done was for Ja Rule, Chingy, Twista, and a few other rnb/rap artists for the Rock the Block tour
