  • Not just following directions I can read the map perfectly too.
  • Terrible. I get lost all the time. I also should not drive at night. I can barely see. But, I still don't ask for directions:)
  • I was blessed with a very good sense of direction and I find things easily enough. I also read maps well, though I rarely use them.
  • I can follow the east, west, north, south directions. Any landmarks thrown in, are a big help too.
  • I'm horrible at directions.....Tomtom GPS is my friend.
  • I am LUCKY to find my way out of the driveway! I do need landmarks, and my own satalite to guide me.
  • I have a built in compass! Drop me in the middle of nowhere and I find my way without trouble!
  • I have a mental map of the streets in my mind, and I find it hard to get around if I don't. This didn't work when was in Pittsburgh PA for work, since the streets snaked all around, and I had to memorize landmarks.
  • Ha Ha NO! i can get lost on a straight road! and have done! My sense of direction is a constant source of humour for my family! :)
  • Around my local area, i am good with simple directions, when i am in a new place, i get all effed up.
  • Once you get used to living in the countryside for a sufficiently long time - same as me - you get used to following and giving directions based on East West North and South. Even the landmarks are referred to direction wise. The built in compass within our brains gets working with a little use, I suppose.
  • I can follow directions fine in a city that's laid out on a grid. Boston seems to have been laid out according to a random number generator or as a demonstration of quantum mechanics. Here, landmarks are very helpful.
  • I used to be a surveyor and have a very good sense of direction.
  • Following directions? ahahahaha Iwas born without a compass in my head. I couldn't tell you north from east if my life depended on it. I get lost even though I own a GPS. Landmarks only confuse me. It takes me days to get to the grocery store, and I've lived in the same place for 20 years. sigh. oh such is life. Someone's got to do it. ;+
  • without tom-tom i'm better with a map but really im horrible at both and happy i have a navigation system in my car. without it i'd be in the middle of south america by now lol.
  • I get lost stepping out of my front door.
  • I'm good at finding directions around my hometown, however, when I'm out of it a landmark or visual indicator is always helpful.
  • I'm good with directions. My internal compass is fairly good. Although I've read the men are inherently better with directions as they have more magnesium in their blood. that could be a farce, but just something I read.
  • Nope. I still get lost going to the bathroom.
  • I needs signs and lots of landmarks, my sense of direction is pitiful.
  • OMG, I was born without a compass or sense of direction. Put me in a field on a dark night and I'll still be there in the morning trying to figure out which way to go.
  • I'm actually very good with directions. Let me be your guide! Haha! =D
  • LOL +3, great question! I suck at navigation as far as N, S, E, W.... I hate how mapquest will say "start north on....." I need to know LEFT or RIGHT????? LOL
  • I need all the help I can get from any source I can get and even then it's very hard for me. I have no sense of "spatial visualization"..I was tested for that ability among other things years ago and I scored zero. So I am always getting lost, or turned around, or disoriented. Those who have no problem probably think that is impossible and quite absurd..believe me, it is no fun and I wish it were different but it is what it is! :(
  • i can do both, however landmarks are most beneficial
  • its very hard to admit it, but i am absolutely horrible with directions. i need lefts and rights and also landmarks. just dont give me a map....
  • My dear, I couldn't find my way out of a paper bag!
  • Yes, I have made a living following directions, but let me reassure you, not all directions are good or well stated! lol.
  • I dont do directions well.
  • Very good, especially if you can throw in some landmarks. I'm terrific with maps as well. I am our family navigator.
  • Yes, I'm good at directions. Where do you want to go!?
  • Im excellent in the local area, but once I get away, I have no clue. Thank God for GPS or I'd still be circuling around somewhere trying to figure out where I was, LOL!
  • Yes ! I pretty much seem to have a built in compass ;-)
  • I do excellent with my GPS mobile app.
  • I know east west north and south on the highways, otherwise you're going the wrong way! lol I can follow a map, but have gotten confused when I was young. Don't really need all that now that we have mapquest and satellite directions, besides the fact I haven't driven in about 15 years. But I'm confident I could navigate any car ride you wanna throw me in. I'm not experienced at all when it comes to flying or navigating a boat. But I know where the sun rises and sets and where the moss usually grows, but I'll use the sun over the moss because it can grow in a shady spot on the normally sunny side of the tree. I also know after a tumble, in the water you let a little air out to find which way is up before swimming and in an avalanche you can either check which way the blood is dripping or spit to orient yourself before trying to dig out.
  • Heck I'm so terrible with directions I get lost in the driveway.
